Nani Waddoups, Licensed Professional Counselor

I believe we navigate the waters of life by constantly adjusting to subtle and profound changes, much like tacking a sailboat or steering a kayak in order to keep moving ahead. How we experience those changes — as loss or opportunity, with sadness or joy — determines the course we will follow.

While each of us must make the individual choice of how to move forward, I believe we are all in this together. No one needs to navigate alone. The process of counseling is to support the planning of the trip ahead and to help navigate the waters of life. To get started on your personal path, contact me today in Portland, Oregon.

About Me

I am a professional listener. My work is to attune with my clients and to strive for understanding. I believe that we all want to be understood and to understand ourselves. My natural curiosity, my training, and my work with clients continue to hone my skills for asking the right questions, sharing my perspective, and checking in to confirm we are still on the right course.

I believe that we are all in this together. The messiness of life has been my best teacher. I am 56 years old and have navigated these years in ways that have helped me appreciate the richness and complexity of what it is to be human and to celebrate the potential for self-determination.
